Email tracking software and email analysis tools are essential if you’re operating an online marketing campaign. Without email analytics in place, you have no way of knowing if your efforts are actually reaching people or just going in one ear and out the other – or, more appropriately, into the inbox and out the recycle bin.

One of the most important things to do, as you’ve probably been told time and time again, is to engage your readers. But sometimes that’s impossible to do if you don’t do one simple thing: ask questions.

Asking questions is the best way to illicit responses and start a discussion. Getting your readers actively involved beyond the point of simply reading your email message and hopefully taking a desired action, like clicking on a hyperlink and following up with a purchase, is dependent on you getting feedback. And no better way exists to do this than by framing relevant questions that’ll get people participating.

Remember, there’s no room in online marketing for a one-way conversation. You can make your email tracking software and email analytics work for you by using your keen insight into your field to get those who have already expressed interest even more involved.
